Stayed for 4 weeks over August. 3 big bedrooms (one huge with en-suite). Perfect for our family of five and 2 visiting grandparents. Kitchen and Utility fully fitted out and towels provided saving much needed suitcase space. Beverley was on hand if anything was needed as were the neighbours! Lovely close knit community in Meca. Very small Shop right next door, cooked chicken next door every Sunday, pool was perfect to cool off and surroundings perfect for a nice chilled getaway. The town of Coura is 10 mins drive and have everything you need including supermarkets, cafes and amenties. Most other large towns about 30 mins drive. All towns have markets etc great to visit. Recommend eating at Casa do xisto for lunch, you must book if you want evening meal however. Highly recommended.

What a wonderful surprise! The Meca Retreat was everything the website promised and more—spacious, modern, yet full of old-world charm. It was spotless, dog-friendly, and felt instantly welcoming.
Our only regret was not staying longer. Next time, we’ll be sure to bring more family members and enjoy an extended stay. We highly recommend this hidden gem!

Meca Retreat is a comfortable well equipped property set in a very peaceful rural area of North Portugal. There are panoramic views from the house and you can hear the tranquil chimes from the church across the valley. The owners are extremely helpful and there is an added bonus of the swimming pool especially on hot days. There are plenty of walks around the village but a car is essential to explore the interesting area, we would thoroughly recommend a visit to Ponte de Lima. Close by is a small shop and about 2 kilometres away a Restaurant that serves delicious food at a very reasonable price. We did enjoy our stay at Meca Retreat ,our Thanks to Beverley.

Spent a wonderfully relaxing week at Meca Retreat. The traditional house has been beautifully renovated, keeping all the original features but with modern amenities. The views are spectacular and the only sounds you will hear are the church clock chiming on the hour and the odd farm dog barking. Large enough for a family but cosy enough for a romantic stay. The owners pay attention to detail and communication is excellent. Thank you! We will definitely make a return trip.
